The Palestine Israel Ecumenical Forum (PIEF) of the World Council of Churches has initiated a petition to be presented to the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, calling for justice for Palestinians illegally imprisoned in Israeli jails:

“LET MY PEOPLE GO”

- Justice to all those illegally imprisoned in Israeli jails -

We, members of churches, church-related organizations for justice and peace, and civil society movements for human rights from around the world, address this petition to the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), calling attention to the plight of Palestinian political prisoners and Israeli conscientious objectors who are held in Israeli jails.

This petition is presented to coincide with the observance of World Week for Peace in Palestine Israel (WWPPI), being held during 21-27 September 2014. An initiative of the Palestine Israel Ecumenical Forum (PIEF) of the World Council of Churches (WCC), WWPPI rallies churches, faith-based communities, and civil society organizations from around the world to unite for a week of prayer, education, and advocacy in support of an end to the prolonged occupation of Palestine and a just peace for all in Palestine and Israel.
