The situation of Christians in the Middle Eastern Crisis - Clergy workshop by Kairos Palestine and Sabeel

On January 20, 2016 Kairos Palestine in joint collaboration with Sabeel has held a Clergy Seminar in Tabgha – Tiberias under the title 'Towards developing a Palestinian-Christian Ecumenical Discourse’ in the spirit of the Kairos Palestine Document. Over 30 priests, clergies from different denomination along with Kairos Authors and Heads of Palestinian Churches, including Lutheran Bishop Munib Younan and Patriarch Emeritus Michel Sabbah joint the seminar to discuss the role of the Palestinian Christians in society, to analyze the current situation and to discuss the identity issue that Christians in Palestine and Israel tend to have problems in identifying. During the seminar, many issues and problems were discussed in order to find a solution and better grasp the situation in Palestine, Israel and the whole region of the Middle East. On the course of two days, five main topics were discussed: analyzing the current situation, the religious narrative in our churches and on the ground, the church and religious extremism, the role of the church nowadays and the Bible and our daily lives.
